What you get
Features
- Iron and sulfur dealt with ahead of the softening stage
- A softener in front of an iron problem fouls the resin bed
- Specified only after the well has been tested
- Drinking-water RO included
Well water
On a well? We test before we quote. Every time.
Spots, scale, poor lather — no stains
Hardness only
The Whole Home Softener, set up for well water, behind a pre-sediment housing — $3,750, drinking-water system included. Only when the test shows iron under 0.3 ppm, a pH of 6.5 or higher and no sulfur. Tested first, because iron you can't see yet changes the answer.

Iron — the common case
Dual Tank — Well, after an iron test. Iron at 0.3 ppm or more — the level where staining starts — means the two-tank system, never a softener alone.
Heavy iron, sulfur smell, tannins
Peroxide Well
When the air-injection tank isn't enough, a peroxide feed goes ahead of it. Sized only from a lab test and a site visit.

Questions and a lab first
Hot-water-only smell usually points to the water heater, not the well. Tea color, pinhole leaks and safety questions go to a certified lab before anyone sells you equipment.
Well questions
What does the basic well test cover?
Hardness, iron, pH and a sulfur check at the house; a certified lab test when the first results call for it — that has a lab fee, which we tell you before we send the sample. We never quote a well off a test strip.
What does the standard well system include?
The air-injection iron tank with Katalox Light media, the softening tank, the 5-micron pre-sediment housing, the tank drinking-water system and standard installation, with a walkthrough and welcome packet.
My well is hard but has no stains. Do I still need the Dual Tank?
Not if the test agrees. When iron is under 0.3 ppm, the pH is 6.5 or higher and there's no sulfur, a Whole Home Softener with a pre-sediment filter does the job — $3,750 installed, drinking-water system included. If the test finds iron at 0.3 ppm or more, it's the Dual Tank — Well.
When is a pH Booster needed?
When the test shows acidic water that would eat at copper and the resin. It is a calcite tank ahead of the system.
When is UV needed?
Only off a lab result showing bacteria, and after the well is shock-chlorinated. We don't test for bacteria on a standard call and don't sell UV without the lab result.
When does a home need the XL instead of the standard tank?
Very hard water or four-plus bathrooms.
What is a spin-down filter?
A first-stage screen that catches sand before the 5-micron cartridge. Recommended on wells that pump sand.
When is a well a peroxide job instead?
Heavy iron, a strong sulfur smell, iron bacteria or tea-colored water. Above what the air-injection system handles, we quote the Peroxide Well — after a lab test.
